Where to Celebrate Waffle Day in Charleston

We did the scouting so you don’t have to—here’s where to indulge on August 24th.

Where to Waffle in Charleston

Whether you’re craving sweet, savory, or something in between, these local spots serve up waffles worth waking up for:

  • Millers All Day (Downtown + Mount Pleasant): Known for their fluffy Belgian-style waffles topped with seasonal fruit and a dollop of house-made whipped cream.

  • Big Bad Breakfast (Mount Pleasant): Waffles with a southern twist—try them topped with fried chicken, bacon, or pimento cheese.

  • The Junction Kitchen & Provisions (Park Circle): Go savory with the “Loaded Potato Waffle” or sweet with fruit and maple syrup.

  • Early Bird Diner (West Ashley): Their Chicken & Waffles is a Charleston favorite, with crispy fried chicken and golden waffles served all day.

  • Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit (Multiple locations): Not just about biscuits—keep an eye out for rotating waffle specials on the menu!

  • Waffle House (Various Locations): And of course—Waffle House. The 24/7 classic where the waffles are always hot, the coffee never runs dry, and the late-night stories practically write themselves.

From brunch classics to bold creations, Charleston knows how to do waffles right.

What’s the Weather Like in Charleston, SC in August?

In August, Charleston keeps its summer vibe going strong with hot and humid weather, with temperatures climbing into the 80s and 90s. You’ll definitely feel the heat, whether you’re out and about or just relaxing. It’s one of the hottest months of the year, so pack light, breathable clothing, swimsuits, sunscreen, sunglasses, a sunhat, and flip-flops.
