Welcome to 2024, Charleston! January and February are a few of the colder months in the Lowcountry, but there are still events and happenings around town. Check out some of my top picks of highlights this January and February around town: 

One of everyone’s favorite weeks is happening in January! Charleston Restaurant Week runs January 11th - 21st!! Enjoy specials at some of the most popular restaurants in Charleston! View the beautiful blooms of the Camellia flower at Middleton Place, January 16th - February 29th during their Camellia Walks tour. Mark your calendars for Taste of Folly on January 19th - 20th. A celebration of Folly food including local restaurants selling food and drinks on the street, local vendors, live music, kids’ area and silent auction. https://visitfolly.com/taste-of-folly/

The Charleston Boat Show will be held January 26th - 28th this year. This show is a kick-off to the Charleston boating season. If you’re interested in purchasing a boat, this show is a must-do! The Lowcountry Oyster Festival is on February 4th at Boone Hall Plantation. This is the world’s largest oyster festival, featuring 80,000 pounds of oysters! It’s been named one of the top 20 events in the southeast. The Mount Pleasant Towne Centre and Charleston Animal Society have teamed up to host Pup Bowl on Saturday, February 10th from noon to 3 pm near Old Navy at the Oaks. Pup Bowl is a pet adoption and family-fun day to benefit Charleston Animal Society. Cheer on as two teams of adoptable puppies face off in the cutest football game you have ever seen!
